Welcome to Rambling Along the Holmes County Trail. The blog is a collaborative effort of a few individuals who want to share our interest and enthusiasm for the Holmes County Trail, Rails-to-Trails conversion in northeastern Ohio. One of us, Mic, has been including occasional posts about the Trail on his own blog for a couple of years and thought it was time to expand on that. We are not associated with the Holmes County Trail in any official way. Please see their website for that kind of information. We will link there when it is appropriate.
The Trail is many things to many people. There are walkers, bicyclists, horseback riders, joggers, and Amish buggies using the Trail for exercise and for transportation. Our interests tend toward the natural history along the Trail, its birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, trees, and flowers along with the exercise and fresh air we get from a bicycle ride or walk.
We hope you enjoy our Rambles Along the Holmes County Trail. We welcome comments and observations from your own rambles along the Trail…
I love the idea of a blog for the trail. It is such a beautiful and scenic area. I am on the trail several times a week and I continue to marvel at what a tremendous asset this is for our County. One of my favorite memories was seeing a mink family crossing the trail a few yards ahead of me. Every bike trip brings new experiences. If you are not taking advantage of this unique area you are missing a special area.
Glad you found us Mike. Your observations parallel ours. Keep us posted on what you see…
